New Bus
After our trip to Canada, we decided that while we love the RV life and the trips that we can take in it, the Hurricane Thor just wasn't going to cut it. It was lacking serious power to get up some of the mountains out west and didn't have some of the amenities we really wanted. Little things like a residential fridge etc. And Jodi realllllly hated the linoleum and cabinetry of the Thor. After a little discussion we were off to see what was out there for either new or used RVs.
A trip to General RV and a discussion with the sales rep we jumped in the golf cart and went looking. One of the key items we had decided was that we had to have a diesel pusher for the power, and we were open to used as long as they were in good shape. The first stop was a 2019 Winnebago. WOW!!! It was nice. We both really liked it, and to be honest, were ready to stop our search right there. However, the sales rep told us that he had at least one other he wanted us to look at before we decided.
The second stop was a 2018 Fleetwood Discovery 40D LXE. The moment we walked into it, it felt like home. It had everything we wanted and more. It was like new, as the original owners drove it then stayed with friends and family or in hotels. Apparently, they only slept in the RV a couple of times. Some of the plastic protection covers were still on the appliances. I'm pretty sure that with the slides open it had more room than my first apartment.
While we were sold, we did do our due diligence and looked at two more. It didn't take any discussion at all really. We were decided, we were getting the Discovery. After filling out the paperwork and putting the deposit down on it, all we had to do was to bring the Thor over and swap our stuff into the new one.
