The Adventure Begins
So back in August of last year Jodi 'inherited' a Hurricane Thor 37' RV. After much back and forth we decided to keep it instead of selling it and make our minds up after we'd used it for a trip to Canada. We're both extremely excited about the trip.
Well, before we take that trip, we decided to do a local trip, just to figure things out. Makes sense right? I mean after all, I've never had an RV, and while Jodi had some experience with it, neither of us knew enough to feel comfortable. So off we went with some friends to Silver Springs.
Ok, I have to admit, I wasn't super excited about it. I was nervous since I had never driven anything nearly that size before and I was worried about making turns etc. Not to mention, I was towing my motorcycle behind it so that added another 10' or so.
Driving it was a LOT easier than I thought it would be. After a few right-hand turns, I figured out how much space I needed to turn and what I was comfortable with and what I wasn't. I think I only ran over one curb going up and managed not to hit anyone or anything. And more importantly the bike made it as well. YAY!!!!
So we spent a couple of days being lazy, kayaking on the river, doing the glass bottom boat tour and really enjoying our new home away from home. Being able to come back and make our own meals in our own little kitchen and shower and sleep in our own bed was a treat. And I'm amazed at how much stuff we fit underneath.
There's still a learning curve, but I feel far more comfortable about our upcoming trip to Canada.
