Key Largo, Montego, Baby why don't we go???

So late last year, my girlfriend says, let's go to John Pennekamp in the Keys!  You can bring the bus, we'll take our camper, sounds like a great idea, let's do it!    We booked the next available dates, July 11-14. I should have known, being from Florida, you don't do anything outside in the month of July.  Dan and I decided we would get a jump on the week and leave the day before and stop in Collier - Seminole State Park, and we would meet up with our friends in Pennekamp the next day.

CSSP was really nice.  Spot 103.  I think there was maybe a handful of campers there that night.
There were many mango trees, with lots of fruit, so we stocked up our fruit bowl!  This campground will be great for weekend getaways and fishing!  Water and Electric only, dump station nearby.  I probably wouldn't park in this particular spot again.  The tree and telephone pole and being so close to the restroom building made it difficult to park.

Bear activity was at a high, but we were (un)lucky to not see any.

Next Stop, John Pennekamp in the beautiful Florida Keys.
The entrance to John Pennekamp had me a little worried.  It looked so tight.
But our space (20) was perfect.  It backs up to a marshy area, and we didn't seem to have a bug problem (luckily).  It's super quiet here, we are right between two restroom areas and a walking trail to the beach.  Dan is getting really good at backing in.  He got it on the first try!
Of course, it is great to have an amazing navigator.  Full hookups.  Any space past the curve was good.

We went fishing in a nearby cove and caught a few blue striped grunt. They were pretty and gave a good fight. I was very disappointed they were so small!  Back they went.
